The OP, located at the far end of the northeast of South Korea, is one of the places that provide you with a living evidence of the division of the Korea Peninsula. The Unification and Security Park is located 10km south of Tongil OP and is used as the educational place for national security.
The OP also provides you with a view of North Korea and Mt. Kumkang.
It opened in February 1984 and was expanded later with the addition of the North Korea Hall in June 1988. It has the Security Hall, the Observation Platform, three exhibition halls, and the Moral Education Center.
